A Year's Challenge - Week 6: Half Moon mani

Hi everybody,

Have you already seen that Meisie's Nails has got its own domain??? YAY! So don't forget to update your feeds and/or bookmark to my new URL: www.meisiesnails.com !

Now on to the nails stuff... I'm so sorry I'm behind schedule with this challenge. It's supposed to be so easy, because it's only one nail design per week. But, you know, sometimes life gets in the way and you have to prioritize certain things and yada yada yada...

So I owe you week 5 of this challenge which is Newspaper Nails. I promise you I'll do my best to come up with a design soon, if I find some newspaper.

Anyway, this post is about week 6: half moon mani. As we are getting closer and closer to Valentine's day, I came up with a valentine half moon design.

I don't know if you noticed it, but this time I put the hearts oriented towards my view and not the viewers'. I usually don't do it like that, but I totally didn't think about it when I was putting those hearts on my nail. Dang, now it looks upside down!

Here's how I did it:

I first applied a coat of China Glaze Millenium (base coat before hand, of course!), then I used some reinforcement adhesive rings to make a perfect half moon shape. Then I added a coat of Essie French Affair and removed the adhesive a few seconds thereafter. It is that simple!

Then for the accent nail I used a few rhinestones and Kleancolor Twinkly Love for the hearts. It was hard to get the hearts off the brush and have them nicely aligned on the nail. So I had to pick each heart with an orange stick and place them one by one on my nail.

I hope you all like it!
