Mix & Match: Denim, Gradient and Leopard Print

Hi everyone,

I'd like to share with you another denim mani I did for a contest on IG. 

For this mani I applied that same denim technique I showed you before in this tutorial. And here's the tutorial for the gradient nails and leopard print:

1. Paint your nails with a white polish and let it fully dry;

2. Apply striping tape diagonally (or any way you like) to your nails;

3. Apply the pastel nail polishes directly onto the sponge. The polishes I used are Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse, Crema de Limon and Parfait Day;

4. Dab the sponge over your nails.

5. Remove the striping tape and let your gradient dry and add some dots of neon polish on one of the sides of the stripes. The dots don't have to be perfect. The polishes used here are China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, Kiwi Cool-ada and Pool Party;

6. With the brush and the black acrylic paint, outline the neon dots to create the leopard print. Apply top coat and voilà!

Cartoon Nails

Hi everyone,

you may have seen these cartoon nails everywhere by now. I first saw this super cool nail design at Nailed It. Katy did such a great job that it has inspired me to give it a try. It's been on my To-Do Nail Designs list since I first saw it at Katy's blog, but today it's on my nails! :)

It's such a fun and easy nail design! There are 2 ways in which you can recreate this design: 

1. You can either paint your nails black and then paint over it with your desired color, leaving a black border contouring your nails. Then finish it off with a thin black line across the tips. Then add the white  highlights with either acrylic paint or nail polish. 

2. This is the method I used: paint your nails in the desired color and with a liner brush outline the edges with black acrylic paint or black nail polish. Then add the white  highlights with either acrylic paint or nail polish.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm still a week away from going home, so I've been playing with the polishes and nail art items I have with me.

Remember my Fake Tattoos Review post? I wanted to play a little more with those super cool tattoos and here is what I did:

I was inspired by Copy That, Copy Cat Nails' Free as a Bird design. She did it all freehand, but I used the birdies nail tattoos by Fake Tattoos and freehand painted the cage around the bird with black acrylic paint.

Lime Crime Rainbow Gradient

Hi everyone,

I posted this rainbow pedi picture on Instagram last week.

I was so happy with how it turned out and everyone liked it so much that I had to match my nails with my toes!

I used all the Lime Crime Les Dessert d'Antoinette nail polishes, with the exception of Milky Ways, for this rainbow gradient.

And here is my hands/feet combo:

Easter Bunny

Hello everyone,

it's almost Easter and I already have my nails ready for the holiday. :-)

I wanted to paint a bunny, so this is what it became:

I was in doubt whether to leave the other nails blank or to make colorful easter egg patterns. So I opted for the latter and with the help of scrapbooking scissors, I cut some scotch tape and painted some random patterns. 

This is the image I used for inspiration.

Lime Crime Milky Ways

Hi everyone!

Remember those gorgeous Lime Crime polishes I reviewed here? Hard to forget those beauties, right?!

So here's Milky Ways again, which was my favorite of the bunch:

I added some dried flowers and some Born Pretty Store half pearls to the accent nail. This polish is awesomely pretty and has such a unique color! Not to mention it stayed on my nails for almost a full week!!! You'll probably ask me how this is possible. Well, I must say that I don't do any of the daily household tasks (cleaning, cooking, washing, etc.), but even so, I've had polishes, not the holos or special effects of any kind, just the normal polish from well known brands which didn't last even a day!!!

[Review] Lime Crime Les Dessert d'Antoinette Nail Polish Collection

Hi everybody,

I'm very excited to show you some pretty nice nail polishes that I received in the mail the other day. It's Lime Crime's Les Dessert d'Antoinette Nail Polish Collection. The collection comprises 7 highly pigmented pastel shades, inspired by confectionary delights from Marie Antoinette's table.

I don't own a lot of pastel nail polishes mostly because the formula is usually very streaky. But let me tell you something: Les Dessert d'Antoinette polishes are a whole different story! Let me show you!

Starting with Lavendairy, which is a purple lilac pastel shade. It does not dry to a glossy finish but it isn't matte either. It's opaque in just 2 coats.

Next shade is Once in a Blue Mousse, a tiffany pastel with a glossy finish. This one also achieved full opacity in 2 coats. 

Pastelchio is a lime green chartreuse, an absolutely gorgeous shade that falls more into a neon than a pastel. 

Crema de Limon is a pastel yellow that applied like butter! Even though it gets full opacity in just 2 coats, I applied 3 to show its true color. 

Peaches ❤ Cream, a 2-coater bright orange/peach shade. Like Pastelchio, this too is a borderline neon shade. 

Parfait Day is a very pigmented and bright pink that depending on the lighting, it's pretty close to being a neon as well. 

And to complete the collection, Milky Ways, an off-white cream with a hint of peach. A truly amazing and unique color, unlike anything I have in my stash. Like Once in a Blue Mousse, this one also dries to a glossy finish. 

Overall impression: 

I totally A.D.O.R.E.D this collection! It was about time that a company would introduce highly pigmented pastels with easy application. Some of the shades are more of a bright cream than a pastel though. I had no issues with the formula, although Pastelchio was on the thick side, it still applied like butter. All polishes achieved full opacity in just 2 coats and dried fairly fast. With the exception of Once in a Blue Mousse and Milky Ways, all the others do NOT dry to a glossy finish, which is not a big deal if you apply top coat. 

Les Desserts d'Antoinette can be purchased directly at Lime Crime's website. The polishes can be purchased individually for $5.99 per bottle (9ml/0.3oz) or $39.99 for the entire collection.
