[Review] BornPrettyStore Glow In The Dark Water Decals

Today I've got some Glow in the Dark water decals from BornPrettyStore for review. 

Polishes used: KIKO Sugar Mat #646 and Orly Liquid Vinyl

They are very easy to apply:

1. Remove the plastic protective foil 
2. Cut the decal you want to use 
3. Dunk it in water for about 10 - 20 seconds 
4. Slide the decal off and with the help of tweezers, apply it on your nail 
5. Apply to coat to seal in your design. Voilà! It's that simple!

Round Glequin Flowers and Border Nails

Hello again,

This is just a quick post to show you this mani I did using some round glequin, which I reviewed one here.

I was inspired by Nail Loopy's Spring Flower mani, which I've been wanting to try since I first saw it on her blog. Instead of doing all nails floral, I just opted for an accent nail. But IMO her floral mani was way cooler, so I will give it a second try soon and do it like Nail Loopy did. ;)

[Review] BornPrettyStore Tribal Colour Textured Nail Polish

Hello everyone,

I received 2 textured Tribal Colour polishes from BornPrettyStore to review! 

As with many Asian polishes, these 2 have no names, just numbers. The pink one is #13 and the blue one is #14.

Tribal Colour #13 is a very light shimmery/pearly pink. It's very sheer, so you'll need 2 or 3 coats for opacity. This polish is a little thick so application can be tricky, so I recommend applying thin coats and building it up to achieve the opacity you desire. Or you can apply it over a white base and all you need is one coat. This is what I did for the design above. As for the texture, it's not too rough or gritty. It feels like most textured polishes in the market.

Tribal Colour #14 is a light pearly blue. Also sheer, requiring at least 2 coats to be opaque. This one was thicker than #13 and harder to apply. I had a hard time trying to apply thin coats to my nails, which resulted in a very lumpy and textureless appearance. On the swatch stick, I had no problem with the application, so I don't know why it's so hard to apply on my natural nail. 

With patience and practice I managed to get a satisfactory swatch on my nails.

[Review] BornPrettyStore March Nail Lacquer #7

Hi everyone,

Recently, I received this March Nail Lacquer #7 fromBornPrettyStore to review. The polish comes in this super cute bottle containing 12mL/0.4flOz.

This polish has a green jelly base and applies like butter! It has the prefect formula for easy application. The brush is short and thin, but it's flat and not hard to use at all. The bow can be removed, so it doesn't stand in the way. This polish won't be opaque in 1 or 2 coats, so you'll have to go with 3, as you can see in the picture below.

Pinkie: 1 coat, Ring Finger: 2 coats, Middle and Index fingers: 3 coats

For those looking for a great jelly for glitter sandwiches, this is the polish you're looking for! 

I applied 3 thin coats of March Nail Lacquer #7 for the swatch above. There's still some visible nail line, but it's very subtle anyway. It's hardly noticeable, unless you look very closely. I really like this polish. It dries fast and it's very shiny. The swatch above has no top coat. I'd definitely like to try the other March Nail Lacquer shades!

[Review] Born Pretty Store Round Glitter

Polish used:
China Glaze - White Out (2 coats)

The glitter set consist of 12 different colors of round glitter (glequin) and they come in 12 small round containers, just like you see in the picture below.

Application is very simple. You can use a toothpick or a dotting tool dipped in clear polish, so it's tacky and will stick to the glequins. Then apply the glequins, one by one, onto the nail while the polish is still wet. You can also use this wax pencil to apply the glequins. I personally prefer using the wax pencil over the toothpick/dotting tool. When I use the toothpick/dotting tool, I always end up having a little residue of clear polish on the glequin surface. It's not a big deal, but if you look close enough, you'll see the polish residue on your glequins. This does not happen when I use the wax pencil.

[Review] Born Pretty Store Zipper Water Decal

I received a sheet of zipper water decals from BornPrettyStore.com to review, which I used to create the denim design you see below.

This denim design was inspired by CopyThatCopyCat's Denim Zipper Nails. Later I applied some matte top coat, but it kind of flattened the texture and smudged the colors a bit. But I still like it a lot.

Here's the wheel I received, containing 12 different styles of studs in gold, silver and black.

In my opinion, there are 11 styles of studs. I think those small golden round studs are exactly the same, but it might be that they are slightly different in size and thus not the same after all. Here's a closeup of the shapes you'll find in the wheel:

The design possibilities are endless. There's really a lot you can do with these studs. Here's another example:

The application is simple! Just like with rhinestones, you simply add some clear polish or topcoat on your nail and place the studs with the help of a dotting tool or any other tool of your choice. I advise you not to apply a top coat after you've applied the studs, because it might dull them a bit.

The bigger shapes in this wheel are pretty flat, so if you have curved nails like mine, the studs will stick out a bit, as you can see in the picture below. This might be bothersome for some people, as it might get stuck to clothes, hair and so on. Other than that, these studs are awesome! They add a little extra to your mani and they're very easy to apply.

[Review] Born Pretty Store 3D Flowers

This 3D flower on my ring finger pretty much looks like a 3D acrylic flower, but it's made of a soft rubber-like material that can easily bend to fit the curvature of your nails. This 3D flower comes in a wheel that contains 12 different designs.

[Review] BornPrettyStore - Sweet Color Polish

Hello my dear readers,

I have recently received this Sweet Color polish from BornPrettyStore for review.  The colors don't have names, only numbers. The one I'm wearing on the picture is #232. As you can see, it's a jelly polish.

Index finger: 1 coat, middle finger: 2 coats, ring finger: 3 coats, pinky: 4 coats

This polish was very easy to apply and will achieve opacity in 3 coats. With 4 coats you'll have almost full opacity, but there'll still be some VNL. Again, this is a jelly polish! For the glitter junkies amongst us, this polish is perfect for glitter jelly sandwiches. 

For this sandwich, I applied 1 coat of Darling Diva Polish Pendragon, followed by an extra coat of Sweet Color #232. So I've ended up with 2 coats of Sweet Color #232 on my index, 3 coats on my middle finger and so on. 

My overall impression is really good! It applies easily and is great for glitter sandwiches! The only downside is the smell: it has a very weird smell! I wonder if this polish is 3 Free.

[Review] Born Pretty Store Rhinestones - Part 2

This time I went for a little more bling! I used the elliptical shaped rhinestones to create colorful half flowers and used the round and flower shaped silver rhinestones to complete this mani.

I really like the matte version but I had to apply topcoat over it just to make sure this mani would last long enough. And it did: 5 long days! The Rhinestones stayed well in place and laid really flat on the nails.

[Review] Born Pretty Store 5 pc Nail Art Brush Kit - Part 2

So I've been playing around with my new brushes, but I'm still not quite where I though I'd be. This one stroke technique is harder than I thought.

But anyway, I came up with some Jack-o-lantern design, since Halloween is around the corner.

For these pumpkins I used brush size 2 from the 5pc brush set. Size 2 is the smallest in the set. I started painting these pumpkins using the one stroke technique, but my paint wasn't opaque enough. I added layer over layer to achieve full opacity. This, in turn, messed up with the one stroke looks. I have no complaints about the brush. It works as it's supposed to!

[Review] Born Pretty Store 5 pc Nail Art Brush Kit - Part 1

I hope you all had a great weekend!

I have received this very nice 5 pc nail art brush kit from BornPrettyStore for review. I was really excited about this brush set because I've seen some very pretty one stroke nail art designs that are to die for, so I wanted to give it a try.

Since I'm a newbie to this, I started with something easy: a butterfly!

I hope with time I can get better at the one stroke technique and be able to paint some nice flowers and so on.

These are the brushes that come in the 5pc set:

Brush sizes from left to right: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2

Brush size 8 was damaged during shipping, but I think a bit of reshaping can help. 

For the butterfly I used brush size 6 for the upper wing and 4 for the lower one. Since I'm just starting with this one stroke technique, I don't know yet how much the brush sizes affect the design. What seems logical to me is: small brush size for small designs, large brush for large designs.
