[Review] BornPrettyStore Studs

Press Sample

Hello again my lovelies!

I'd like to show you two more nail art items I received from Born Pretty Store for review.

The first item is this awesome wheel containing approximately 400 pieces of 2mm studs in 6 pastel colors and 2 different shapes: squares and rounds.

The 2nd item is this other wheel containing only 3mm square studs in 12 different pastel and neon shades. There are approximately 260 pieces in this wheel.

These studs are pretty awesome and there's a multitude of designs you can create with them! The application is simple! Just as with rhinestones, you simply add some clear polish or topcoat on your nail and place the studs with the help of a dotting tool or any other tool of your choice. I personally don't like applying top coat over the studs. So I just make sure the studs are properly attached to my nails and I leave them just like that.

These studs can be purchased at BornPrettyStore.com for $7.59 each wheel. Besides, they offer FREE WORLDWIDE shipping! If you use my coupon code AA7J61 you get a 10% off of your entire purchase!

Leopard Print

Hi my lovelies,

It's been a while since I last posted a nail art design! It's been a month, I think! I first posted this leopard print design on my Instagram and totally forgot to post it here... Shame on me!!!

This designed was inspired by the super talented @Stylish_Mom, whom I've been following for a while on IG. She creates some amazing designs and she also has a tutorial for this particular leopard design, you should really check it out!

This design was entirely done with acrylic paint, except for my ring finger, which is Kiko #323. Then I topped it off with my Hard Candy matte top coat.

I hope you liked it!

Thanks for reading!!!

Shimmer - Jacki

Press Sample

Hi everyone,

How are you all doing? I hope you are all ready for some more Shimmer Polish, because today I have another one to show you! Meet Jacki!

According to description on Shimmer's website, Jacki is a violet and navy sparkle glitter polish, but when I looked at my bottle of Jacki, I must say I did not see that violet and navy sparkle. All I saw was this very subtle mix of dark red and silver macro glitters in a brownish jelly base, just like you see in the macro bottle shot below. So I picked OPI Mrs O'Leary's BBQ as a matching shade for my accent nail. But I was in total AWE when I applied Jacki on my nails. What you see on the swatch above is what I saw too! It's like there's an entire galaxy on my nails!!!!! OMG!!! It's STUNNING! I even think that Chanel Taboo would have been a better choice for my accent nail. But I like how this combo turned out anyway. After all, it's an ACCENT nail. For the swatch above, I applied 2 coats of Jacki over OPI Mrs O'Leary's BBQ.

Shimmer Jacki is very much like the previous 2 Shimmer shades I tried. Application is perfect, it has a smooth finish and it's packed with shimmer!

Shimmer Polish can be purchased directly through Shimmer's website or through her Etsy store. Each Shimmer Polish shade sells for $12 a bottle + shipping. Worldwide shipping is available.

Penélope Luz - Lucky Fairy

Hi everyone,

look what I have for you today! It's another beauty created by Penélope Luz. If you are not familiar with Penélope Luz, let me explain it to you. Penélope Luz is a Brazilian indie nail polish brand that was created exactly a year ago (August 2012), but it was only recently that I've become acquainted to this brand, thanks to a wonderful lady from Brazil! (Pri, THANK YOU!!!)

So here it is: Lucky Fairy! I must say this picture does not do this polish enough justice... It's so much more sparkly IRL! It's gorgeous!!! For the gradient, I used Catrice Hugo Moss, Kiko #296 and Color Club Twiggie. I must say I was surprised that I did not have any shade of green in between Hugo Moss and #296!!! So this gradient isn't much what I expected. But hey, now I have a new quest: buy more shades of green nail polish!!! ;-)

Now back to PL Lucky Fairy... Look at this bottle shot! It's impossible not to like it, unless you don't like glitter at all... or green....

Lucky Fairy is a green jelly base with tons of different sized hexes in green, gold, black and some black squares in between. It's stunning! And it feels pretty smooth on the nails. I only applied 1 coat of INM Out the Door top coat and I'm good to go!

If you like this Penélope Luz, I'm pretty sure you'll like these 2 others I've swatched before: Sarcasm and Tendresse.

Thanks for reading and 'til next time! XX

[Review] Born Pretty Store Studs

Hi my dear readers,

I received some studs from BornPrettyStore.com to review and I'd like to show them to you.

Polish used:
American Apparel - Peacock (1 coat)

Here's the wheel I received, containing 12 different styles of studs in gold, silver and black.

In my opinion, there are 11 styles of studs. I think those small golden round studs are exactly the same, but it might be that they are slightly different in size and thus not the same after all. Here's a closeup of the shapes you'll find in the wheel:

The design possibilities are endless. There's really a lot you can do with these studs. Here's another example:

Polish used:
American Apparel - Lopez Canyon (1 coat)

The application is simple! Just like with rhinestones, you simply add some clear polish or topcoat on your nail and place the studs with the help of a dotting tool or any other tool of your choice. I advise you not to apply a top coat after you've applied the studs, because it might dull them a bit.

The bigger shapes in this wheel are pretty flat, so if you have curved nails like mine, the studs will stick out a bit, as you can see in the picture below. This might be bothersome for some people, as it might get stuck to clothes, hair and so on. Other than that, these studs are awesome! They add a little extra to your mani and they're very easy to apply.

These studs can be purchased at BornPrettyStore.com for $4.89 each wheel containing 12 different studs and they offer FREE WORLDWIDE shipping! If you use my coupon code AA7J61 you get a 10% off of your entire purchase!

[Review] Born Pretty Store 3mm Golden Studs

Hello everybody!

Sorry I've been MIA, I was on holidays. But now I'm home again and full of energy! :) While I was gone, I had some nail mail coming in awaiting my return. I have so many things to show you, but today I'll be starting with these gorgeous 3mm golden studs I received from Born Pretty Store for review.

The application was very easy! Just like with rhinestones, you simply add some clear polish or topcoat on your nail and place the studs with the help of a dotting tool or any other tool of your choice. Since I used a matte nail polish, I didn't want the topcoat to ruin the matte looks, so I first applied one coat of polish on all my nails. Once dry, I applied another thick coat of polish on a single nail and while still wet, I placed the studs on my nail and applied very light pressure so the studs would "sink" a little in the polish. The studs stayed in place for about 3 days until they started falling off one by one.

Because my nails are long and wide, I used the 3mm studs. If you have shorter nails, I'd advise you to use the 2mm studs. But If you have tiny nails, then maybe the 1.5mm studs would be a better option for you. It all, of course, depends on what designs you want to create.

These studs come in these little plastic bags, which can be handy for storage, but I would have preferred if they'd come in one of those plastic wheel thingies, if you know what I mean. It would have made application easier.

These 3mm golden studs can be purchased at Born Pretty Store for $6.07 each bag and they offer FREE WORLDWIDE shipping! If you use my coupon code AA7J61 you get a 7% off of your entire purchase!

Polish used:
ManGlaze Santorum
